RABIES PEP DEMAND IS RISING

Cold Chain Readiness Belongs in the Response Plan

CDC issued a nationwide advisory following increases in human rabies exposures, post-exposure prophylaxis use, and preventable administration errors. From July through August, CDC received 17% more rabies-related inquiries than during the same period in 2025.

Cold-chain readiness is part of that response. Both rabies vaccines licensed in the United States require refrigerated storage at 2-8 °C. When doses move between facilities or into off-site response settings, maintaining that range is essential. Now is the time to review protocols, inventory visibility, and transport procedures before higher demand puts them under pressure.

Put Color to Work in Your Workflow

A cooler moving through a busy department should be easy to identify before someone reaches for the label. New Cool Cube™ case colors give organizations a visual cue they can build into identification and workflow practices.

Assign colors by department, location, application, route, or another internal standard, then pair that system with labels and SOPs. Color does not replace identification. It makes the right Cool Cube™ easier to recognize at a glance and gives organizations another way to standardize how their fleet moves through daily operations.

Burn Supplies Where the Team Expects Them

A burn patient arrives during a response and staff need dressings, debridement supplies, PPE, and related items without opening case after case. Burn care slows when one clinical function is scattered across a larger cache.

The Response-Friendly™ Burn Care MedKit keeps function-specific burn supplies together in an Upright Medical Organizer, with clear pockets that keep contents visible at the point of care. Staff move one organized module where it is needed, while the corresponding SmartBook™ supports recovery and sustainment after activation.

Expand Emergency Care Capability with Structure

A surge pushes care beyond the existing emergency department. Opening another treatment area is only the first step. Staff still need clinical functions, equipment, and supplies organized around the response.

The Response-Friendly™ Mobile Emergency Room System uses configurable, function-based modules in labeled mobile cases to support temporary emergency-care expansion. Organizations select the capabilities they need and deploy a defined system that supports recovery, sustainment, and future expansion rather than assembling the same response from scratch each time.
