Lab Specimen Transport

LABS NATIONWIDE ARE FACING INCREASING SCRUTINY AROUND:

  • Maintaining stable temperatures within required ranges during specimen transport
  • Ensuring Category B compliant packaging (DOT 49 CFR 173.199 / IATA PI 650)
  • Documenting conditions during the pre-analytical phase
  • Reducing variability with couriers
  • Preparing for CLIA inspections with confidence

Lab Sample Testing

Cool Cube™ systems are engineered for labs seeking consistent temperature control, Category B compliance, and a defensible pre-analytical process under CLIA.

WHAT IS A COOL CUBE™?

The Cool Cube™ is a revolutionary cold chain transport cooler that maintains critical temperatures of specimens and other temperature-sensitive lab products for at least 60 hours (depending on model), ensuring cargo is protected throughout the entire duration of its transit—without the need for ice or electricity.

COOL CUBES™ ARE DESIGNED FOR:

      • Laboratory courier routes
      • Multi-stop daily pickups
      • Weather-exposed transport
      • Air and ground Category B shipments
      • Long-distance or unpredictable courier conditions

No ice, no gel, no fluctuations—
just stable performance!

TESTED FOR DURABILITY AND PERFORMANCE

Independently validated through ISTA 7D thermal performance testing, and compliant with Biological Substance Category B drop test standards, Cool Cubes™ are qualified for laboratory specimen transport. When panels are properly prepared, stable temperatures can be maintained for the following durations.

Prepping the Cool Cube™ is easy!

WHAT MAKES THE COOL CUBE™ DIFFERENT?

Cool Cubes™ maintain tight, validated temperature control across multiple ranges.

No cords, no compressor, no complex maintenance—
just simple reliability!

Three Temperature Profiles: Frozen, Fridge, Room

CC-Panel-Temperature-Configurations

The internal temperature of the Cool Cube™ is controlled by easy-to-prep panels containing phase change material (PCM). Panels assemble quickly to form a chamber ready for pack-out… at a temperature that is nearly identical to the product. It’s simple (minimal steps) and safe (no buffering material needed).

LAB FREEZER TEMPS

-50° to -15°C

When a ultra-low temperature is needed, Lab Freezer PCM panels (grey) will keep product frozen for days. This dry-ice alternative is far safer and more effective than dry-ice. The advanced phase change technology allows these panels to hover around -21.5°C (-6.7°F) for a long period of time. As a result, product getting too cold or too warm is eliminated and no need for bulky buffering material.

REFRIGERATOR TEMPS

2-8°C | 1-10°C | 1-6°C

When a refrigerated temperature range is needed, Refrigerator PCM panels (blue) are at the sweet spot of freshness. This ice alternative is far safer and more effective than ice packs. The advanced phase change technology allows these panels to hover around 4.5°C (40.1°F) for a long period of time. As a result, accidental freezing is eliminated as well as the need for bulky buffering material (the coolant is at 4.5°C).

ROOM TEMPS

15°-25°C | 20°-24°C

When a controlled room temperature range is needed, Room Temp PCM panels (tan) will keep product at a warm temperature for days, despite being in a cold or hot environment. This ice alternative is far safer and more effective than ice packs. The advanced phase change technology allows these panels to hover around 21.5°C (70.7°F) for a long period of time. There is no need for bulky buffering material.
